The 2024 “You and Me in Beijing” BFSU “Chinese Bridge” Summer Camp (for Secondary School Students: Ages 14-18) is now open for registration. Sponsored by the Center for Chinese and Foreign Language Exchange and Cooperation, organized by the Confucius Institute Office of BFSU, and undertaken by Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press, we encourage teachers and students from our school to actively participate!
1. Project Brief:
The “You and Me in Beijing” BFSU “Chinese Bridge” Summer Camp is an international Chinese education initiative developed by Beijing Foreign Studies University. Since its inception in 2008, it has hosted thirteen successful sessions, welcoming over a thousand students from 17 countries across Asia, Europe, and the Americas. This year, the Confucius Institute Office of BFSU continues its tradition by organizing the fourteenth session, providing a platform for international youth to learn and engage with Chinese language and culture, fostering cross-cultural exchange and mutual understanding.
2. Project Overview:
2.1 Project Dates: July 15th – July 26th, 2024
2.2 Project Location: North China University of Technology (5 Jinyuanzhuang Road, Shijingshan District, Beijing).
2.3 Target Participants: Ages 14-18, non-Chinese nationals, non-native Chinese speakers; must have passed HSK Level 2/YCT Level 3 or above. To apply for the HSK test, please visit this site: https://www.chinesetest.cn/HSK
2.4 Program Schedule: Please refer to the details in the PDF below (final schedule may be subject to minor adjustments based on actual circumstances).
2.5 Submission of Materials and Deadline: Please contact info@belchin.be for registration and flight booking matters before May 3rd.
3. Expenditure:
The project will bear the expenses of accommodation; transportation and insurance (only travel accident insurance within China. It is recommended that the participants purchase international travel insurance covering the whole process in their own country), Chinese language courses, and tours for camp participants and chaperons during their stay in Beijing. The project also offers collective transportation service to and from airport on the day of arrival and departure.
